I was my very own client! As you know, I’m an avid beach go-er so there was no doubt in my mind that I had to have my reception on the ocean. My love of the beach inspired me to create an airy and sophisticated décor, right down to the bonfire on the beach after party.
From the ancestry inspired cocktails (I’m Italian and my husband is Swedish) to the smores station set up on the beach to enjoy after we had all danced until our shoes came off, I created a unique setting that reflected every detail of our love and style
Rebecca and Danny met on birthright, a retreat for young Jewish folks who want to become closer to their motherland.
They told me they wanted a venue that encompassed who they are and how they met, so we chose a special place in the city that they started their life together in; the Jewish Museum in Philadelphia.
Their heritage inspired museum nuptials were attended by family and friends near but mostly far so Rebecca and Danny wanted to make sure Philly was infused in every little detail.
The famous LOVE sign made a few appearances! This couple loves to travel so much that I even helped carry the theme through to Rebecca’s shower. “Love is a journey” was our motto for the day and every detail captured somewhere the couple had been. From the vintage map covered vases to the “language of love” games (how many of you know how to say I love you in Swedish?) and vintage suitcases, Rebecca’s shower joined her two loves together that day.
Jenn and Leif have a mutual love of the water and anything you can do in it. Surfing, fishing, boating...they love it all and they love doing it together. Nautical was the easy choice for their theme. The reception was set to be on the water and the couple knew that arriving on their boat would be the most fitting entrance!
The bride-to-be is also obsessed with anything vintage and has been in love with 1920's inspired design before Leo and The Great Gatsby blockbuster made it popular again!
Marrying these two things together was a fun challenge. The bride's dress, her birdcage veil and 20's inspired head piece for the reception were the Art Deco focal points of the night.
We chose the color silver and combined it with anchors and other nautical, natural decorative pieces to set the relaxed but sophisticated mood this soirée needed.
